The Choir
CHOIR CONCERT MAY 2011
Sandal has a very strong Church choir, who lead the worship at the 10.30am and 10.45am Sunday services.
We have 34 members---sopranos, contraltos, tenors and bass— and sing a variety of styles of music, from Handel to Kendrick!
We present at least 2 big concerts a year, usually at Church Anniversary in May and at Christmas, raising money for the Church as well as giving pleasure to the audiences.
Anthems are sung at special Church services throughout the year.
On Palm Sunday, at the beginning of Holy Week, we present a meditation of music and words at 8.00pm.
A “SING SANKEY” evening is also held yearly to have a really good sing of old favourites and to raise money for the Wakefield Hospice.
We have a wonderful fellowship and quite a few of us have a week-end away once a year.
Choir rehearsals are held on Thursday at 7.30pm
